Since the beginning of the summer a video has been making the buzz on the internet, especially on Youtube and Instagram. But then what is it. This video is a promotional video for the company Melius Trading.
Jean Pierre Franguin, the young man in the video(s) is trying to sell the dream, with a big car and a decadent lifestyle.

In this article we will study in depth what is behind Melius, how this “dark” society works and who its representatives are.

Melius, revolutionary trading training vendor?

Melius trading training advice

To begin with, it should be pointed out that Melius aims to sell training courses. These courses are supposed to help you manage your money properly. You can imagine that if we talk about it today, it’s because it’s a little more complicated than that. Already it is necessary to know that Jean Pierre Franguin, the young man in the videos is a regular of this kind of videos. Just do a quick search on his Instagram account to see other videos with on the same principle. Dressed in a suit and tie and in a dream setting, he acts in a bizarre way and is even taken back by passers-by from time to time, bordering on the ridiculous. If you haven’t seen it yet, here is a Melius promotional video (we do not promote this kind of video or this kind of behaviour).
His photos use the same codes and give the image of a person who has a millionaire’s life (it made us think of Mickael Vendetta). Here, the goal is rather simple, to give desire to the people who look at the video to have the same life, because his argument rests on it, to become like him and to gain much money. But we have to be able to do it.

The Mélius method for selling training courses

TEST AND OPINION MELIUS

In his video, our friend JP says that if we follow him, we will be able to “be part of the 5% of the population that holds 95% of the world’s wealth”. So how do we do it? There is no real explanation provided, except that it can be done from your mobile phone. On the other hand, at the end of each video we have his email address to contact him, so that he can explain how to do it. A journalist from Le Parisien (Antoine Castagné) tried to contact her to find out more about this dream life sold in Instagram videos. Here is the result of his investigation:

The journalist explains that after contacting this famous JP he was put in touch with a person called Hamza. Apparently he describes himself as an “ambassador”, his mission is to accompany and explain the steps to follow to become rich and successful. The caller, Hamza, works for a company called Melius which is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and has ambassadors like him in hundreds of countries. Melius is run by three brothers and specializes in trading training. If you want to know more about trading, follow this link.
JP explains to us that with trading he would have become rich. Melius, the company he is promoting, aims to give everyone the keys to learn how to do the same. Once again, if trading was that easy, we would all be traders…

What we don’t see by Melius

Now let’s see what this rather obscure company is offering. It quickly becomes a problem because the company offers you to join a paying program. Le Parisien reveals that you have to take out a monthly subscription to the company and on top of that, you also have to pay for a training pack, the prices of which range from 175 euros to 888 euros. According to this famous ambassador, once the amount is paid, there is a 100% chance of making money, which is far from the reality. Once you have paid all the amounts requested, you have two options:

  • You start trading with the knowledge gained from Melius’ training and the mobile applications the company offers. But the thing is that very few people are able to trade even after Melius training. Trading, on a regular basis and especially making money doing it is a real profession that often requires years of study and especially years of experience.
  • You can in turn start selling these same trainings to get rich and become recruiters yourself. It’s called relationship marketing.

4.

Now let’s take a look at relationship marketing

Now that you’re a member of the training program and paying a monthly subscription to Melius, you’ll have to try to bring as many people as possible to Melius. As you may have already understood, as soon as you find someone to buy a training course, you receive a part of the money, the same goes if this client recruits another client, etc.
This is called a pyramid structure. The higher you are in the pyramid, the more people you have “recruited”, the more money you will get because those you have recruited must recruit in turn.

That’s why JP publishes videos on social networks, so that as many people as possible buy training courses and/or become recruiters, or “ambassadors”, in their turn. A beautiful pyramid, like the one below.

MLM Ponzi Pyramid

In the end, where is the scam?

As you can imagine JP is not the only one to produce this kind of content and if you look a little bit you will find many other “entrepreneurs” who are trying to show their dream life and ask to be contacted by private message to get more information.

In the media, there are many testimonies of people who have been convinced by one of these pseudo-influencers who are supposedly millionaires.

The Melius scam goes even further because the main victims are young people who are the most present on Instagram Snapchat and Tiktok, where the videos are posted. In search of easy money, these young people can easily fall into the trap set.

The scam is also that by joining a company like Melius, there is no guarantee that we can recruit other clients. This pushes people to sell at all costs, even if it means making false promises to pay back their training or earn money.

So that’s why some people can appear to be very rich on social networks. Indeed, one should not always (almost never) believe what one sees on social networks. For example, it is very easy to rent a car or a beautiful villa. Beyond this video which made the buzz, hides in reality a technique very widespread in France and in Switzerland (the videos of JP are shot in Switzerland).

If this is your first visit to Onatest, we welcome you. We don’t sell training, but we do test articles on products and services every day. Mélius deals more with current events but it is also a service that we wanted to focus on.

OPINION: The advantages of MELIUS

  • The ambassadors are funny (we couldn’t find anything else!)

OPINION: The – of MELIUS

  • Beware is not a scam in the strict sense of the term, BUT
    • low-quality training
    • high price
    • you won’t be an ace trader with their training
