There are a lot of virtual reality headsets on the market, but today we wanted to introduce you to the latest and greatest: the Oculus Quest 2!
The Quest 2 achieves the synthesis between 2 ways of experiencing virtual reality: sharing and sensation.

1.

Introducing the Quest 2

The Quest 2 is the latest virtual reality headset that the company (Oculus) released in 2020. It is considered a high-end headset, ideal for people who play virtual reality video games as well as for those who would like to discover a new visual experience.
Ergonomic, it is easy to use and you only need a Facebook account to use it. It can be used wirelessly, thanks to Bluetooth, or with USB-C 3 connectivity directly plugged into the PC.

We’ll get to thehardware side of the Quest 2 right away!

2.

Unbeatable features

The Quest 2 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor, 6GB of RAM, 1832 x 1920 resolution on each eye, and an RGB LCD panel.

The headset has a battery life of 2 to 3 hours depending on use and recharges in 2 hours. The headset’s screen offers a 72Hz refresh rate, which can be increased to 90Hz with the latest update. A microphone is included in the headset and you can connect headphones via a built-in jack.

This headset can be used via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (if you use it on your smartphone), or with a USB-C type cable that will be plugged into your computer. The advantage of this cable is that it is 3 meters long, ideal if you have a large space. The headset is compatible with PC and smartphones (Android and IOS).

The design of the Quest 2 is characterized by an all-white model (black for the foam) which reminds the soft, light side. A soft headband is provided to prevent the helmet from weighing down the nose and to offer a very decent stability.
On the left side of the device, we find the various connectors (jack or USB-C). The joysticks are also white, to ensure a perfect cohesion with the helmet. The design of the controllers has been thought out for the comfort of the controls, especially in the thumb area. They have a 30-hour battery life and use one AA battery for each controller.

We can therefore say that this helmet is a real war machine!

Conclusion

Quest 2 is like a small bomb on the virtual reality headset market. It also makes a real generational leap from a technical point of view. And if that wasn’t enough, it takes advantage of the immense improvements to the Oculus Link mode to establish itself not only as the best standalone VR headset ever released, but also as a great PC headset.

Should you buy this helmet? It all depends on how much you can afford, but we highly recommend it!
